Piar, a two-time Gateway PGA girls 12-14 division player of the year before coming to Marquette, still has summer tourneys remaining before she and mom will depart Aug. 19 on the nearly 2,000-mile drive from East Alton to Los Angeles to make the Aug. 23 report date for her freshman season with Cal State-Northridge.
