King earned a doctorate of education in educational leadership from Cal State Fullerton, where her dissertation focused on the role of community college faculty and staff in creating academic achievement for Black men. She also has a master’s degree in education from the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from Cal State Northridge.
