- Go outside and look for a cool shaped rock or a pretty leaf
Creativity
- Do an at-home paint night
- Junk journaling/collage
- Online poetry prompts
- Make a new recipe
Gratitude
- Identify 3 things you are grateful for each morning
- Try gratitude journaling 3 pages a day
Positivity
- Count your small wins for the day
- Spend quality time with loved ones (virtually or in person)
- Find humor and levity in each day, watch or read something funny
Inspiration
- Identify someone who inspires you and write down their qualities
- Find inspirational quotes that feel meaningful to you
Mindfulness/Grounding to gain a sense of calm and relaxation
- 5 Senses: 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, 1 thing you can taste
- Mindfully eat a food or meal - what is the texture? Smell? Taste? How does it feel in your mouth?
- Find a meditative video online that you can follow
- Breathing exercise: Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, exhale for 6 seconds (repeat for 2 minutes)
Get outside
- Take a walk in your neighborhood
- Find a place to go on a hike with friends
- Ride a bike
- Even stepping outside for a few minutes in the sun can be helpful!
Check in with yourself
- Journal your worries or even your goals
- Make a list of things you want to accomplish in life
- Make to do lists that chunk up larger tasks
