Campus Traffic Advisory - Beginning of the Semester
Please be advised traffic on campus roads and parking lots has the potential to become heavily impacted for the first several weeks of the semester. Parking lots nearest the core of the campus will fill as early as 8:00 AM Monday thru Thursday. Detour routes may occur after 10:00 AM. In preparation for potential traffic delays, we recommend you plan for an additional 45 minutes to your daily commute. When you arrive on campus, we also recommend you follow the direction of LED sign boards and traffic direction officers to find the nearest available parking space. Parking permits can be obtained through your CSUN portal or by visiting the Parking Services Office. To enroll in automatic payroll deduction, please visit the Parking Services Office during regular business hours.
Daily parking permits for $8.00 are also available for purchase. Day permits can be purchased at Information Booth 1 (Lindley and Nordhoff), Information Booth 2 (Prairie and Darby), and Information Booth #3 (Zelzah and Prairie). You may also purchase a day permit at dispensers in all parking structures and in all student lots.

Call for CSU Faculty and Student Presentations - Abstracts & Titles due February 11
Water Resources Policy Initiatives (WRPI) is currently planning its 2022 Annual Conference, which will be held on April 7, 2022, at CSU Northridge!
We are seeking CSU faculty, staff, and students interested in presenting their research and/or discussing their expertise as panelists in topics related to our conference theme, “Water Connects! Justice, Innovation and Resilience.”
Proposals will be accepted for:
Presentations - Team or individual proposals accepted from faculty, staff, and/or students. Presentations will be a max of 15 minutes and might be in the form of panels, lightning talks, and/or PechaKucha.
Posters: Team or individual proposals accepted from faculty, staff and/or students to present their poster.
Presentation Topics
As water connects, we encourage all proposals to be interdisciplinary and/or intersectional.
Topics include (but are not limited to):
- Justice in Water Policy Initiatives and Regulations
- Innovation and Technology (applied to water)
- Water Sustainability and Resilience
- Water Resource Management and/or Engineering

Asian Studies presents Hong Kong in Crisis: Perspectives on the Popular Movements of the 2010s and the New National Security Law | February 15

The Asian Studies Program is proud to present the Distinguished Visiting Speakers Series with special guest, Jeffrey Wasserstrom from UC Irvine. This illustrated talk will focus on patterns of protest and the tightening of political controls in Hong Kong during the last few decades.
This illustrated talk will focus on patterns of protest and the tightening of political controls in Hong Kong during the last few decades. It will pay particular attention to the 2014 Umbrella Movement and the dramatic events of June through December of 2019, including two large protests that the speaker was in Hong Kong to witness. The presenter, who has been visiting Hong Kong regularly since 1987, will draw on his work as a specialist in the history of anti-authoritarian movements in various parts of the world and his work on global cities of Asia. The presentation will showcase ideas in his new short book Vigil: Hong Kong on the Brink (Columbia Global Reports, 2020).

Mitchell Family Counseling Clinic (MFCC) Offering Low-cost Therapy to CSUN Students, Faculty, Staff, and Alumni
The Mitchell Family Counseling Clinic (MFCC) is a community service site for the Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling in the Michael D. Eisner College of Education at California State University, Northridge. MFCC provides clinical training for graduate level students who are part of the Marriage and Family Therapy program at CSUN, while also providing much-needed counseling services to members of our local community.
As we strive to heal from the adverse impacts of COVID-19, MFCC is working to support the resilience and recovery from the stress and anxiety associated with the pandemic.
In an effort to help our community thrive, MFCC is providing short term therapy via telehealth. This low-cost therapy is available to all CSUN Students, Faculty, Staff, and Alumni.
