Gailya Brown to be recognized as 'Outstanding Fundraising Professional'

In 2003, Brown joined the advancement team at California State University, Northridge as director of development for the college of arts, media and communication, where she helped to secure a $10 million gift from Mike Curb to name the college and kickstart the $125 million campaign to build the university's valley performing arts center. In 2007, she became senior director of the campaign. The 1,600 seat valley performing arts center (now known as The Soraya) opened with a gala performance on Jan. 29, 2011.
