The Los Angeles Business Journal’s annual CFO Awards event began back in 2006. In its 15th year, the event honored finance professionals in the Los Angeles region for their ongoing efforts as outstanding financial stewards. Given the economic times and ever-changing climate, CFOs serve as essential members of a company's core leadership team. The event also featured a panel of industry experts, including Brandon Ferrera, Southern California Market Executive, Middle Market Banking at Fifth Third Bank, Brian Hegarty, Principal, Managing Director Los Angeles – Employee Benefits Division at Marsh McLennan Agency and Nelly Montoya, Director, Management Consulting & Financial Services Senior Analyst at RSM US LLP, where they discussed the ever-changing economic climate, the evolving role of the CFO, the current state of financial affairs, and the overall financial outlook of businesses in Southern California this year.
