Biography
Jasmine graduated from CSUN in May 2018 with a BA in Deaf Studies—ASL/English Interpreting concentration. While at CSUN, Jasmine was President of the Deaf Studies Association and a member of the Volunteer Interpreting Program. She also worked in the Advisement Office as a Peer Mentor and then later on as an Interim Academic Advisor. Her love for research led her to work alongside CSUN professors to conduct studies regarding the lack of People of Color within the field of Interpreting, as well as research regarding confidence and anxiety levels within the Field of Deaf Studies and the impact of the Impostor Syndrome on Students of Color. Jasmine has experience working with a diverse range of children, teens, and adults from different backgrounds, ethnicities, and socioeconomic statuses. Outside of work, Jasmine is very involved with her Church, Nations Church Los Angeles and serves on the worship team as well as in children and in youth ministry. Jasmine is happily married to her husband, Mario Solis, and they both love hiking, going to the beach, writing music, and trying out new coffee shops!
