With Community Transformational Model as the central framework, the HERE Center and Visión y Compromiso are partnering together to deliver an Ethics in Community-Partnered Research Training program in Spring 2022.
The goal of the Ethics Training is to provide CSUN and affiliated faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate research assistants with the knowledge and skills necessary to engage in mutually determined research where the approach to research purposefully place the community’s needs first and integrates community ideas of authentic measurement, data interpretation and dissemination to positively impact the communities involved and create transformational change.
Why consider participation in our ethics training program?
- Support from local promotoras to develop an authentic research design that allows you to build better relationships with your community participants and community partners
- Guidance and resources from the promotoras to identify the participants you need for your study, how to help them understand why they should participate, how it will be received by the community you are studying, etc.
- Support and collaboration with other HERE Center researchers
- Opportunities to join community- and research-based initiatives that are linked to your research interests
