To the Campus Community,
Today is election day. One of our most important duties and privileges as a citizen of a vibrant democracy is the right to vote. I encourage all eligible members of the campus community to exercise their right to vote if you have not already done so.
CSUN has hosted one of the more popular voting centers in our region that is open today until 8 p.m. in Redwood Hall Room 160. Free voter parking is available at lot F5, directly west of Redwood Hall and accessible via Zelzah Avenue. I want to thank everyone who has worked to make this voting center a reality and service to our community.
Across the university, civic engagement and voter education initiatives have flourished. No matter what happens, I can assure you that our values as a university will remain intact. Please do your best to be patient if the election outcome is unclear tonight and into the coming days. We are committed to championing our inalienable freedoms — of expression, of inquiry, and academic freedom — that are only possible through the protections clearly defined in the U.S. Constitution. In other words, we will support the rule of law.
Above all, be sure to vote.
Sincerely,
Dianne F. Harrison, Ph.D.
President
