- Some masters and doctoral degree programs accept applications only for fall — not spring — admission.

- Each master's and doctoral program has its own application deadline. For individual deadlines, contact the program of interest directly, or use the Cal State Apply Application Dates & Deadlines search tool.
- Two (2) applications are often required — one to the university and another to the individual graduate program. Please read Graduate Admissions and contact the program of interest.
Graduate Concurrent Enrollment
CSU Fully Online Courses Program
- Fall 2024 semester: Aug. 12 to Aug. 30, 2024

Intrasystem Concurrent Enrollment (ICE)
Fall and spring semesters: You must file the ICE application form before the closing date set by the individual graduate program, available in the Cal State Apply Application Dates & Deadlines search tool.

Returning Student Applicant Deadlines
Undergraduate students returning in good standing
If you left CSUN in good academic standing or on academic notice, do not submit a new Cal State Apply application. Instead, complete our Welcome Back Form during the following dates:- FALL semester admission: Oct. 1 to July 15
- SPRING semester admission: Aug. 1 to Sept. 30
- Athletes, veterans and returning international applicants may have different application deadlines.
Returning undergraduate students who were previously disqualified
Starting Spring 2025 and later, you can request readmission to CSUN using the Welcome Back Form during the following dates:
- FALL semester admission: Oct. 1 to Jan. 31
- SPRING semester admission: Aug. 1 to Sept. 30
Returning graduate student application deadlines
- Returning graduate students: Please check closing dates for individual graduate programs in the Cal State Apply Application Dates & Deadlines search tool and on the individual program website.
Second or Additional Bachelor’s Degree
Please note:
If you are a post-baccalaureate student who holds a recognized bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, you may pursue a program leading to a second bachelor’s degree at CSUN in approved majors. Majors are subject to change annually.
The approved second bachelor's degree majors for FALL 2025 admission are:
- Deaf Studies
- Health Administration
- Public Health
- Radiologic Sciences
Apply to CSUN during one of these application filing periods:
- FALL semester admission: Apply from Oct. 1 to Jan. 31.
- SPRING semester admission: Apply from Aug. 1 to Aug. 31.
