COE Self-Care Activities Spring 2020 - Week 14

April 20, 2020

Dear MDECOE community,

It is so nice to have something to celebrate during these uncertain days! This week on Wednesday, April 22nd, people all over the world will be gathering together virtually to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earthday for hope and inspiration, community building, and climate action. The 24 hour national virtual EARTHRISE event believes that “in a time of global pandemic, we must heal together. The coronavirus crisis won't shut us down. EARTHRISE is the largest, most diverse global mobilization in history on behalf of our environment and our planet. In 2020, mindful of public health considerations due to the global coronavirus crisis, we’ll be using the power of the internet to mobilize and connect millions in a collective call for transformative action for our planet.” To join this global event, go to Visit earthday.org

You can also check out one of the virtual California celebrations in Santa Barbara with many famous live entertainers and speakers, including Al Gore, at the TogetherWeEarthrise Earth Day Live Festival. The FREE livestream event begins at noon on Wednesday, April 22 and is available to view at SBEarthDay.org

Quote for the week: “Fate whispers to the warrior, ‘You cannot withstand the storm.’ The warrior whispers back, ‘I am the storm.’”
