• Demonstrate a belief in the ability of all students to succeed and in the centrality of a teacher’s role in this success; and
• Demonstrate an interest in working with English learners, working in urban and/or high-need schools, or supporting students with special needs.

About ACT

The Accelerated Collaborative Teacher (ACT) Preparation Program is offered through the Michael D. Eisner College of Education at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) in partnership with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). ACT is designed for post-baccalaureate credential candidates interested in pursuing a Multiple Subject, Single Subject, or Education Specialist Credential through a two-semester fulltime program that focuses on addressing the diverse needs of urban school learners. Candidates progress through the program as a cohort, completing a residency year with a mentor or mentors in high-need schools and coursework in the late afternoon and evening. Through grant support from the CSU system, candidates admitted to ACT may apply for a $10,000 scholarship.
