Lauren Matias (Harbor), UC Davis, Jr.: Paired with Heather Reed at UC Davis’ No. 1 spot at the Big West Conference Championship on Friday in Malibu, Matias lost to her opponents from Cal State-Northridge and Long Beach State as the Aggies fell to both schools by 5-0 scores. However, Matias and Reed came close to beating their opponents from Northridge: After falling in the first set 21-15, they won the second 21-16 but were edged 16-14 in the third.
