Requirements and Expectations

All students admitted into our program agree to the following responsibilities for each year:

Freshman Year

  • Participate in at least 2 mentorship activities per semester
  • Participate in at least 2 career engagement per semester
  • Attend at least 2 tutoring or writing consultations per semester
  • Meet with a counselor to develop an education plan by the start of the fall term
  • Check in with an academic advisor twice per semester to review progress on education plan

Sophomore Year*

  • Participate in at least 1 transfer workshop in the Fall semester
  • Participate in at least 2 career engagement per semester
  • Attend at least 2 tutoring or writing consultations per semester
  • Check in with an academic advisor twice per semester to review progress on education plan

Junior Year

  • Participate in at least 2 mentorship activities per semester
  • Participate in at least 2 career engagements per semester
  • Attend at least 2 tutoring or writing consultations per semester
  • Meet with a counselor to develop an education plan by the start of the fall term
  • Check in with an academic advisor twice per semester to review progress on education plan

Senior Year*

  • Participate in at least 2 career engagements per semester
  • Attend at least 2 tutoring or writing consultations per semester
  • Check in with an academic advisor twice per semester to review progress on education plan 
  • Fellows are expected to attend orientation session in the Fall semester each year, and complete a survey about their participation in the program each year
  • Fellows who do not meet the expectations in a given semester are asked to make up the missed engagements in the following semester in order to maintain good standing in the program for continued participation in the following semester
  • Maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher (accounting, finance and nursing majors must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher)

*Strongly encouraged: Participate in an internship or in a service learning experience related to your major. A select number of Pathway Fellows would receive pay for a Summer, Fall or Spring internship in their discipline during their Sophomore or Senior year.
