Scouting CSUN: The Matadors are playing their third straight road game to open the season. They dropped their first two last week, when they fell at Idaho and Boise State in a three-day span. The Matadors had one lead of one point in those two games. They are led by reigning Big West Conference player of the year Channon Fluker. The 6-foot-4 senior center averaged 16.5 points and 16 rebounds the first two games and is a big reason the Matadors were picked to win the Big West by the league’s coaches. When Fluker and 6-3 Ralston graduate Lauren Shymkewicz are on the floor together, they give the Matadors a formidable frontcourt. The Matadors have struggled with their outside shooting to open the season, hitting 8 of 36 3-point attempts (22 percent). Their opponents have shot 41 percent.
