Be a Part of the Tradition - 2018 CSUN New Student Convocation | September 13

We are delighted to invite you to be a part of the 2018 CSUN New Student Convocation occurring Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 6:00 PM on the Oviatt Library Lawn

New Student Convocation is a CSUN tradition that formally welcomes our new class to our campus community.  As an honored celebration of learning that marks the beginning of students’ academic journey, this annual event is modeled after our CSUN commencement ceremonies and serves to recognize our incoming students’ tremendous potential while also inspiring excitement for learning in the year ahead.

All campus faculty and staff are invited to help celebrate the arrival of our newest Matadors by participating in New Student Convocation and the reception that follows.  During the Convocation, the concepts of in-classroom and out-of-classroom learning will be underscored by focusing on the Freshman Common Reading Book Becoming Nicole, by Amy Ellis Nutt and will feature the subject of the book, Nicole Maines and Wayne Maines as our keynote speakers.

Please visit the New Student Convocation Website for more information, to RSVP, and to request academic regalia (all faculty and staff in attendance are encouraged join the processional in full regalia).  Request for regalia needs to be submitted by Tuesday, September 4th. Additional details pertaining to participation (ex: arrival times, pre-reception, etc.) are listed on the Website as well.

We look forward to seeing you Thursday, September 13th.

Sincerely,

2018 Freshman Convocation Committee

Help Support Improved Lactation Accommodations | Mamava Lactation Pod

The Institute for Community Health and Wellbeing, along with campus partners, have been working hard to help support improved lactation accommodations on the CSUN campus.

An opportunity has come our way to potentially fund the purchase of a Mamava Lactation Pod, that will be placed on campus.  A Mamava Lactation Pod would provide nursing mothers with additional private spaces on campus for lactation breaks.

It would be great if we could show that students, staff, and faculty support the idea of a lactation pod on campus, which will provide another safe space for moms to breastfeed!

Please follow the link and sign for "Improved Lactation Accommodations on the CSUN Campus"

Please feel free to contact Cassidy Butow (Owen), Administrative Coordinator, Institute for Community Health and Wellbeing if you have any questions or concerns at (818)677-6927 or Cassidy.butow@csun.edu.

THANK YOU for your support of improved lactation accommodations.
