How do we forgive the unforgivable and heal the unhealable? Jewish ethics expert Aaron Hahn Tapper will explore these questions through the case of Australia's 2008 Apology to its indigenous peoples. What has the Apology meant to indigenous and non-indigenous Australians? Can the U.S. and other countries engage in restorative justice too?

Aaron J. Hahn Tapper is the Mae and Benjamin Swig Professor of Jewish Studies, Chair of the Department of Theology and Religious Studies, and Director of the Swig Program in Jewish Studies and Social Justice at the University of San Francisco. He is the author of Judaisms: A Twenty-First-Century Introduction to Jews and Jewish Identities (University of California Press, 2016).
