2022 Business Law and Real Estate Student Award and Scholarship Recipients Announced
The Faculty of the Department of Business Law is proud to announces the recipients of our student awards and scholarships for this year. We honor the recipients of the Business Law Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award: Sebastian Chavez, Eline Deogracias, Mary Sogradian, Ani Sahakyan, Serouj Guedekelian, Rebecca Lahijani, Sophie Yanez, Katherine Sirca, Krystal Gonzalez, Morgan Villalobos, Nancy Mouradian, Mobina Shahrbanoo, and Luis Perez. This award recognizes excellence in academic achievement in Business Law for graduating seniors majoring in Business Law.
The recipients of the Real Estate Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award are Ajalee Bishop, Katherine Sirca, Matthew Yarian, Stephanie Torres, Erikas Linartes, Charlette Bonyadi, and Serouj Guedekelian. This award recognizes excellence is academic achievement for graduating seniors majoring in Real Estate. These students will receive a certificate signed by the Department Chair and the College Dean, as well as a graduation cord.
The recipient of the Business Law Faculty and Alumni Scholarship is Eden Shashoua. This is a $1,000 endowed scholarship funded by faculty and alumni gifts and awarded to a Business Law major who has demonstrated academic excellence in business law courses, and who meets the other requirements for the scholarship. Jonnathan Benites-Bernardini is the recipient of the Business Law Book Award, which is designed to support returning students who are Business Law majors who excel in the department’s upper-division courses and who demonstrated financial need. The recipient of the Jeff and Valerie Goyer Social Justice Scholarship is Skye Lazarovits. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a returning Business Law major who has a demonstrated commitment to social justice and/or community service and financial need.
The $1,000 David R. Lazarony Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a Real Estate major who has demonstrated both academic excellence and a dedication to current and future community service. The recipient this year is David Graye. Finally, Nina Lopez is the recipient of the $1,000 Donald Bleich Memorial Scholarship, which s given to a Real Estate major who has demonstrated academic excellence, community engagement, and an understanding of the importance of ethics in the field of real estate.
The students and their guests will be honored by the faculty at a luncheon on Friday, May 20, 2022. Business Law Department Chair Kurt Saunders added: “On behalf of my colleagues, I want to congratulate all of our award and scholarship recipients. We’re so proud of their achievements, and we know that many successes await them in their future careers. We look forward to celebrating with them. I also want to thank the members of the Department Awards & Scholarships Committee – Professors Nina Golden, Valerie Flugge, Suyan Zheng, and Sandor Samuels – for their efforts in selecting this year’s recipients and their dedication to our students.”
