Flutist Mary Cervantes has organized what promises to be an equally satisfying musical event called “Dancing Across the Atlantic,” for Sunday’s performance under the Fred and Beverly Dukes Memorial Concert Series at First Congregational Church on Real Road. Cervantes, who finished her graduate degree in music performance at Cal State Northridge last year, will perform a program of Latin American classical music, including the “Fantasia para un Gentilhombre” by Joaquin Rodrigo, best known for his stunning guitar concerto; the “Histoire du Tango” by Astor Piazzolla, and the “Sonata Latino,” by Mike Mower. Cervantes said she performed some of the pieces for her graduate recital.
