Although he has spent recent years in the Midwest and East, Sage has ties and recruiting contacts in the West. He's originally from Sparks, Nev., and played tight end for Sacramento City College in 1998-99. He completed his college career at Cal State Northridge, earning a bachelor's degree in kinesiology.
