Welcome to BUS 302L (Gateway Lab) in Summer 2024!
Gateway Lab (BUS 302L) will be conducted online on Canvas, starting from Monday, June 10th, 9 am to Tuesday, August 20th, 5 pm during the Summer 2024. No exception on the exam date/time periods. As you may be aware, there is no lecture and no fixed weekly meeting schedule for the lab. Students only need to take six exams on lower division business core courses on Canvas. Please visit our course website on Canvas, which will be open on Monday, June 10th, to take the exams during the specified time periods. Please make sure to take the exams early enough so that you have time to retake the tests if needed. I also strongly encourage you to review the materials before taking the tests.
In the meantime, please visit the lab website: http://www.csun.edu/bus302 (scroll down and check the left side). It includes many important information, such as Passing Requirements, Exam Rules, Review Materials, Sample Exams, etc. Although most of the exam settings, such as a time limit, a maximum of three attempts, and so on, are still effective, you are no longer required to use Respondus LockDown browser to take the exams online. But one additional important change I would like to point out is that you can only see one quiz question at a time while taking the exams. As a result, you need to answer each individual question before moving on. Please note that this change prevents you from going back to the previous question and changing your answer once it has been answered. Therefore, please be careful in submitting your answers. Please also note the following passing requirements for BUS 302L:
- PASSING REQUIREMENT: You must earn at least 60% of all points (at least 58 total points) AND pass each field exam with at least 50% (at least 8 points)
- 1 POINT GRADE FORGIVENESS: If a student is only 1 point short either in one field exam or in total points, they would receive passing credit for BUS 302L. This is the only exception to the passing requirements explained above.
- As a result of this one point grade forgiveness, the lowest possible combination of grades for passing the lab is a total score of 57 and only one exam score at 7 and the rest at 8 or higher.

Student behaviors that are inconsistent with the standards will be addressed through an educational process and, when necessary, impose appropriate consequences.

Note: If you do not pass the course requirements, you will need to re-enroll in the class and take all the exams and meet the existing requirements in the semester you retake the class. Take the course seriously. If you do not pass the course in your second attempt, you will NOT be able to get a degree from the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics.
