It’s time to volunteer to be a CSUN Navigator!

CSUN Navigators are staff and faculty that welcome our students during the first two days of the fall semester, answering questions and helping students find their way (navigate) to classes and other locations. This will be the fifth year for the CSUN Navigators and with the expectation of a large number of new students, we will need a lot of volunteers to assist us with this program as it has been well received.

All CSUN Navigators need to attend a training session (Tuesday, August 16 from 9:30 -11:00 am or Thursday, August 18 from 1:30 – 3:00 pm) led by our colleagues in Student Outreach and Recruitment. Even if you volunteered last year you must attend the training as the content is updated each year and your experiences in prior years will add value to our discussions for our newbies. Additionally, we will be scheduling volunteer times, and updating you on answers to common student questions. The training will be held in Bayramian Hall 190.

Be sure to “ask a friend” who may not have participated in the program to come along with you to the training session. Even if you know very little about the campus, we will give you all the tools you need to be a great Navigator and this is a good opportunity to interface with our students.

The president and vice presidents support the CSUN Navigator program, and have asked campus supervisors to adjust schedules whenever possible for participating employees to attend the training session and to assist our students the first week of school.

The Jolene Koester Presidential Scholarship is awarded annually to a member or members of the University staff or administration pursuing a degree in any field of study at CSUN and is intended to cover costs exceeding the amount of any fee waivers in effect.  The applicant must enroll in at least 3 units each semester during the academic year.  Students taking courses through the Tseng College are eligible.

The SRC offers several "Lunch Time Express" group exercises classes to faculty and staff. These classes are free and do not require an SRC membership to participate. Come join SRC members on your lunch break every Tuesday and Thursday this Summer (5/24/2016 - 8/18/2016) to pursue your wellness goals. This program is offered as part of the CSUN HR Professional Development program. Here is a list of classes now available for "Lunch Time Express" participants:
