The New Science of Learning: How to Study Less and Learn More
Tuesday February 16th, 4:30-6:00pm (USU Theatre- updated location)
Help us pack the USU Theatre with students so Todd can help them realize there is another way to balance all the demands of school and studying. Todd's dedication to student success led him to publish a book The New Science of Learning: How to Learn in Harmony With Your Brain written FOR STUDENTS. Given his high energy and ease in connecting with students, this event promises to inspire students to realize they can "have a life" while using more efficient study strategies ultimately resulting with greater enjoyment in the learning process. If you want to offer extra credit for attending, send us an email (
) and we can collect names at the door for you. Please encourage students to rsvp (
) so we know how much food to order.
Copy this paragraph in an email to students (or post on Moodle) which describes what they will gain from this event:
Where did you learn how to learn and how to study? It is an odd question, as you have been doing it for a very long time, and since you’re in college, you’re clearly pretty good at it. That said, what if the strategies you use to study are not the most effective ways to learn? This session is not about spending more time studying, but rather how to study and learn better. The overall goal of this session is for you to better understand how your brain works when processing information and specific strategies you can employ to become a more effective learner.
