2015 Coastal Clean-Up Day and CSUN EOH

September 14, 2015

Join CSUN students along with campus and local community members to help clean up the wash in Aliso Canyon north of the CSUN campus. The water, and any debris, that runs through the canyon ultimately goes to our beaches.  Be part of a movement of more than 10,000 volunteers from all over Southern California who will do their part to clean up their local beaches, rivers, creeks and parks. Coastal Cleanup Day is a world-wide volunteer event. Last year, it drew over 600,000 participants! In L.A. alone 11,275 volunteers picked up 44,880 lbs. of debris.

“CSUN volunteers will be cleaning up the Aliso wash at Aliso Canyon Park, 18069 Rinaldi Street in Porter Ranch.” Boria-Perez said.  “Trash in this tributary that joins the Los Angeles River could impact our health and that of the organisms in the ocean by polluting the beaches along the coast.”

Volunteers of all ages and physical abilities are needed. No special equipment or experience is necessary. Just bring your sunscreen, closed toed shoes and a reusable water bottle and help protect what you love. Your work will contribute toward a healthier environment!”  Learn more about this event and sign up!
