The day promises to be an informative look into the life of a graduate student, linking you with educational resources such as the CAMINO program. You'll have the a chance to meet some of the people who promote graduate student success at CSUN.
A panel of speakers includes keynotes by our former Dean Sylvia Alva (now Provost at Cal Poly Pomona); Award-winning news anchor, Sylvia Lopez, who will share her story as a Latina community leader and her experience so far as a student in the Master of Public Health program at CSUN; and Ms. Cruz, the grandmother of one of our first-generation CAMINO scholars who will share insights into ways to be supportive of a new graduate student.
The $ 2 million Department of Education Grant, CAMINO, addresses the educational gap of Hispanics and other underrepresented groups in health care-related graduate programs. This is a day for friends, family members, future students and anyone who wants to know more about what grad school at CSUN is like. This event is free. Register through EventBrite.
