In February 2010, the Institute convened an Autism Affinity Group to help focus campus resources and services on what has become the fastest-growing disability in the nation. One of its first activities was to compile a CSUN Autism Directory summarizing on-campus resources and expertise. The group has also identified a number of promising funding opportunities for the coming year that may be used to strengthen and expand autism-related services at campus centers and promote interdisciplinary research and activities.
In 2013, California State University, Northridge (CSUN) and The HollyRod Foundation teamed up to establish a program on campus called the CSUN HollyRod Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Network.
