Wells Fargo Center for Small Business & Entrepreneurship (WFCSBE) is a center in the College of Business & Economics at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) that has offered business consulting services to the local business community for over 30 years. Back in 2007, President Jolene Koester had requested an assessment of CSUN marketing status. A few months after, the center delivered a report and a presentation to the cabinet outlining the steps to grow CSUN’s marketing plan. Many of the recommendations have been implemented.
Examples include:
. the slogan “Shine”,
.the constant updating of the website with PR news,
. the creation of a Facebook account,
. the building of a Matador statue,
. the use of flags on campus,
. the hiring of a marketing manager
. and many other brand building processes.
This Fall 2013, President Dianne F. Harrison and the cabinet requested a follow-up study but this time the focus is on how to best advertise CSUN, and the center is competing against two of the largest advertising firms in Los Angeles. Prof. Franck Vigneron is supervising the seven students involved in this project, Calvin Andy, Chris Bordeleau, Zachary Hill, Manny Juarez, Eimantas Kiseliovas, Monica Llort, and Chelsea Randall. The WFCSBE team will complete this project and present it to the cabinet on Monday 9th December 2013.
