Nazarian College MBA Student Awarded Raytheon Technologies Patriot Scholarship
Arturo Garcia, an MBA student at California State University, Northridge’s (CSUN) David Nazarian College of Business and Economics, was recently awarded with the Raytheon Technologies Patriot Scholarship by Raytheon Missiles & Defense, in partnership with Student Veterans of America (SVA). The $10,000 scholarship is given to student veterans honoring those who served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his military service, Garcia is currently the president of the Student Veteran Organization (SVO), as well as the founder and vice president of the Veterans Alumni Association (VAA) at CSUN.
“I am truly humbled by this award,” said Garcia. “It is very popular every year and the selection process, as with many scholarships, is very competitive. I have been working toward this award since I was an undergraduate student and to be recognized now is truly an honor.”
“We are extremely proud of Arturo’s achievement,” said Chandra Subramaniam, dean of the Nazarian College. “His service in the U.S. Army, along with his work in the SVO and VAA makes him a well-deserving recipient of the Raytheon Technologies Patriot Scholarship.”
The Raytheon Technologies Patriot Scholarship, named for the company’s Patriot Air and Missile Defense System, is a $10,000 scholarship designed to help returning soldiers achieve educational goals that lead to success in their civilian lives. The scholarships are awarded to Army student veterans pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited university and require applicants to demonstrate leadership and commitment to their communities.
