Sodium Reduction Initiative at CSUN

In partnership with Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, we performedan environmental scan of high sodium products sold at the university. We have collected data on sodium consumption and health behaviors and are disseminating the research.

Women, Infants and Children (WIC Virtual Services and “WIC Bites” App)

Student interns and dietetic interns are participating in outreach efforts and collecting data to assess the students’ awareness and usage of the WIC satelliteoffice and virtual services.

Wellness Workshops - Whole Body, Whole Health

Wellness Workshops Whole Body, Whole HealthThe MMC offers different workshops focusing on cancer, diabetes, and other nutritional wellness topics. The research team collects data to help to assess any health related changes, knowledge, and behavior with pretest, posttest, and follow up surveys.

Research on the reliability of different body composition tools such as Tanita and BodPod.

Metabolic and Stress Assessment (MeSA) ofCSUN Young Adults (Co-PI with Dr. Toledo-Corral)

Study to correlate psychological and physiological factors such as dietary behaviors and stress to the incidence and prevalence of obesity in young adults.

Eat to Be Fit/Staying Healthy While Staying Home

Comprehensive program to help the CSUN community achieve their fitness and weight management goals through educational workshops and expert support.
