A healthy gut: Food and our microflora

An introduction to the importance of Probiotics and Prebiotics, followed by a food demonstration. Understand the benefits of maintaining a healthy microflora, how to properly manage gut bacteria, and the different way food can alter our microflora.

Ingredients:

  • Water
  • Salt (pref. kosher)
  • Cucumbers (pref. Kirby cucumbers)
  • Whole Black Peppercorn
  • Garlic Cloves (4 cloves)
  • Handful of fresh Dill

-OPTIONAL-

  • Whole coriander seed
  • whole cloves
  • bay leaves
  • mustard seeds
  • peppers of choice
  • *Spices are added to personal taste*

What you'll need: Food Scale (per gram) Measuring Cup Knife Cutting Board Mason Jar (fermentation jar, pot*) *if you are using a pot or an open lid jar, make sure to have something to submerge cucumbers to prevent spoilage.
