Robert Lee Johnson

Robert Lee Johnson is the author of the best seller, Images of America: Compton. He was formerly a leading member of the Compton branch of the Black Panther Party, a founding member of the Coalition Against Police Abuse (CAPA) in the 1970s and a founding member of the Compton 125 Historical Society. In the 1980s he was a plaintiff in the notorious spying scandal that involved the Los Angeles Police Departmentʼs Public Disorder Intelligence Division (P.D.I.D). He was recently featured in the documentary, The Streets of Compton and will be featured in the upcoming documentary, Fire on the Hill.
