Q: When do I receive my CSUN user ID and password?

A: You will receive an email from the Office of Admission and Records with your CSUN user ID and password within two days of applying online to the university. If you haven't received it, please email International Admissions for assistance. Admissions and records will re-send the information to you by email.

 

Q: My CSUN user ID and password is not working for Canvas. What should I do?

A: The user ID to get into Canvas consists of your initials and a couple of numbers (ex. abc12345). If you do not know your user ID, please click on the IT Help Center on the left side of the Canvas homepage. Located in that same block on the left side are resources to help you understand how Canvas works and to obtain assistance with logging in. At the bottom of the page find Frequently Asked Questions.

 

Q: What documents should I submit in Step 6 of the 6-STEPS Immigration Requirements Process?

A: After attending a Virtual Reporting Session, scan clear and complete pdf copies of the following immigration documents as instructed by the International student Advisor conducting the Virtual Reporting Session:

  • Valid passport
  • F-1 visa stamp
  • CSUN I-20 pages 1 & 2
  • All pages of previous school's I-20 (only if you are transferring your SEVIS record to CSUN)
  • Automated I-94
  • If I-94 card, copy of front and back
  • Grade print out (from STEP 2)
  • International Student Financial Acknowledgement
  • New Student Check in Form
  • Emergency Contact Information Form

Q: I am an undergraduate student, how can I contact an Academic Advisor?

A: you will need to complete the F-1 International Student Advising at the HUB. Follow the Academic Advisement Instructions and complete all the steps.

 

Q: I am a graduate student, how can I contact an Academic Advisor?

A: Please, log onto the Master's studies page, choose your program, then contact the Academic Advisor or Program Coordinator for your program.

 

Q: How can I sign up to attend the New International Student Orientation?

A:  Click here to sign up to attend the New Student Orientation. You will need your CSUN User Name and Password to register.

 

Q: How can I purchase Health Insurance

A: Please purchase the California State University, Northridge (CSUN) International Student Health Insurance.

 

Q: How can I Obtain a CSUN Student ID Card?
