Rafia Zakaria is an author, attorney, and human rights activist. She is the author of Against White Feminism: Notes on Disruption, The Upstairs Wife: An Intimate History of Pakistan, and Veil. She has written for Al JazeeraThe NationCNN, the New York Times Book Review, Guardian Books, The New Republic, The Baffler, Boston Review, and DAWN,, Pakistan’s largest English-language newspaper. Zakaria was born and raised in Karachi and now lives in Pakistan and the United States.
