Location:This is an a documentary about the initiative taken by Menachem Daum, an American Orthodox Jewish man and son of Holocaust survivors, to discover whether his negative attitudes about Palestinians has some basis in his parents' Holocaust experiences. Daum sets out to establish a personal relationship with a Palestinian. He meets Yacoub, a Palestinian leading the joint Palestinian-Israeli coalition to save the ruins of his village from Israeli plans to build luxury villas on the site. This documentary examines the power of traumatic memory and prompts thoughtful reflection about important issues in Jewish life today. 77 minutes, followed by Q & A with CSUN Jewish Studies faculty.
