Rabbi Bryan Borenstein will explain a religious revolution in Judaism: how did the Jews transition from the sacrificial worship described in the Hebrew Bible to the synagogue-centered and home-centered practices that we are familiar with today? How did Jews adjust to becoming a Diaspora people, instead of a nation living in the Land of Israel and ruled by kings and prophets?  What does the Jewish tradition teach about the transformation that occurred?

Rabbi Bryan Borenstein studied at Yeshiva University of Los Angeles, then spent a year and a half in Israel studying at Yeshivat Ohr Yerushalayim. He continued his learning in the U.S. at Yeshivat Torah M’Tzion while attending Touro College and receiving a degree in Business Management. Rabbi Bryan is in the process of becoming a Chaplain for The California Air National Guard.  He and his wife Sondra presently work at Hillel 818 as the OU-JLIC, Alevy Family Foundation Rabbinic Couple.
