Manuel Tzoc Bucup is Maya-K’iche’. In his work Tzoc Bucup challenges canonical conceptions of literature by exploring the limits of the letter while also engaging with the intersections of race/ethnicity, gender and sexuality. At CSUN, his talk will address the intersectional identities that are implicit in his poetic and visual work: indigenous identity, homosexual desire, urban context and poetic thought.
