Jack & Florence Ferman Presentation Room in the Oviatt Library. Tuesday, October 2nd at 2:00pm.

Rhetoricians have spent centuries trying to understand how someone like Trump manages to persuade people to support him. Rhetoric can help us understand how Trump uses persuasive symbols and why people are persuaded by him. Dr. Ryan Skinnell will use concepts from the book that he edited, Faking the News: What Rhetoric Can Teach Us About Donald J. Trump, to help explain how Trump’s gender gap works rhetorically at a talk in the Jack & Florence Ferman Presentation Room in the Oviatt Library. This is free talk that you are welcome to attend, especially if you would like to hear about Donald Trump's complication relationship with women.

Dr. Ryan Skinnell earned his Master’s degree in English from CSU Northridge in 2007 and is now an Assistant Professor of Rhetoric at San Jose State.
