5-Year Graduation Plan for Double Majors

Note: Students enrolled in the Double-Major option are required to complete another major. Students should schedule an appointment with EOP each semester for Advisement. Students who do not wish to enroll in an average of 15 units per semester may attend Summer school. Students may double-count all applicable major courses toward General Education requirements. Students should complete the Writing Proficiency Exam between 56-90 units. All students must complete a minimum of 40 upper division units and a total of 120 units to graduate

First Year

Fall Semester

  • Lower division GE: Section A-1 Freshman Composition (3 units, select from AAS 155/ CHS 155/ENGL 155/ or PAS 155)
  • Lower division GE: Section A-3 Mathematics(3 units, suggested: MATH 102 College Algebra)
  • CAS 100. Introduction to Central American Studies or CAS 102 The Salvadoran Experience(GE Double-Count for Comparative Cultural Studies/Gender, Race, Class, Ethnicity Studies)
  • Title V (Suggested CHS 245 History of the Americas)

Spring Semester

  • Lower Division GE Section A-3 Critical Thinking Requirement (3 units, suggested: AAS 201 Race, Racism and Critical Thinking or CHS 202 Race, Racism, & Critical Thinking)
  • Lower Division GE: Section A-4 Oral Communication (3 units, suggested: CHS 151 Freshman Speech Communication or COMS 151/L Fundamentals of Public Speaking or PAS 151 Freshman Speech Communication)
