Calm & HR Present: Create a Better Sleep Routine

Did you know your personal & professional lives can suffer when you don’t get a good night’s sleep? If you’re consistently having poor sleep quality, take note of how it’s impacting your physical and mental health—most likely it’s not operating at its optimum.

As part of our continued efforts to provide preventative mental health care, we want to share a curated collection of Calm resources that can help you feel more well-rested every morning.

Start by creating a better sleep routine:

  • Sleep Stories
    • Calm's Sleep Stories collection has a multitude of relaxing bedtime stories for adults and children. Try Crossing Ireland by Train narrated by Cillian Murphy as he transports you on a magical trip across the sweeping landscapes of Ireland. Or consider Extreme Sleeps: Mt. Everest narrated by Anna Acton as she helps you find slumber on the highest mountain in the world.
  • Falling Back to Sleep
    • In this 26-minute sleep meditation session with Dr. Eric Lopez, he’ll help you let go of your thoughts so you can effortlessly get a good night’s sleep.
  • Infinite Piano for Sleep
    • This piano music track has been uniquely created by real musicians and designed to play for however long you need till you fall asleep.
  • Rolling Thunderstorm
    • In this soundscape, you’ll listen to rolling thunderstorm sounds as you close your eyes and get some quality sleep.

Check out the Calm app for other diverse resources that’ll support your mental health journey. Haven't redeemed your free Calm Premium subscription yet? Visit the HR Benefits Calm website for information on how to activate your account.

Join a Calm App Webinar to learn how to personalize your app experience or deep dive into monthly themed topics to enhance your mental health toolkit.

CSUN Giving Day is Almost Here! | March 6 - 7

CSUN Giving Day is almost here!

On March 6-7, join us for 36 hours of Matador-powered fundraising as we build a brighter tomorrow. As one of CSUN's dedicated faculty and staff, we invite you to share your love for CSUN and tell the whole world how our university provides transformative higher education.

Following last year’s successful debut that raised more than $236,000, we're taking Giving Day to the next level in 2024 with ways to give in each of our nine colleges, as well as to student success initiatives, basic needs and so much more. Visit givingday.csun.edu to explore all the ways you can make an impact on Giving Day.

Wherever you give on Giving Day, you make a difference by empowering our largely first generation students. You help ensure our classrooms, laboratories, athletic fields, stages and galleries are state of the art. And you invest in tomorrow's leaders today.

Thank you in advance for your partnership on Giving Day and for everything you do to help our students reach their educational goals. Your gift of any size makes an impact on Giving Day. Get a head start at givingday.csun.edu and your donation will be included in our final Giving Day tally. Thank you in advance for sharing your love for CSUN!
