It’s time to volunteer to be a CSUN Navigator!
CSUN Navigators are staff and faculty that welcome our students during the first two days of the fall semester, answering questions and helping students find their way (navigate) to classes and other locations. Fall 2017 marks the sixth year for the CSUN Navigators! With the expectation of a large number of new students, we will need a lot of volunteers to assist us with this program as it has been well received. Even if you know very little about the campus, we will give you all the tools you need to be a great Navigator. This is a good opportunity to interface with our students and to spend some time with colleagues!
All CSUN Navigators need to attend a training session for this year. Even if you volunteered last year, you must attend the training as the content is updated each year and your experiences in prior years will add value to our discussions for our newbies. Dates for the training are currently being scheduled.
If you're interested in being a CSUN Navigator for Fall, 2017 and would like us to reach out to you once the training dates are established, please provide your contact information at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2017_CSUN_Navigators_Interest
You can view some photos of past events at the CSUN Navigators website at: http://www.csun.edu/development/csun-navigators

The University Corporation has two big, exciting changes coming to the Sierra Center this Fall!
Zero Waste Building -
All food and beverage venues in the Sierra Center plus The University Corporation's administrative offices have committed to being part of a zero waste initiative. Much of the groundwork for this transition, such as using compostable cutlery and serve-ware, and diverting clean food scraps and coffee grounds to the campus' organic garden/compost program, has been in place for some time. Additional changes such as informational signage and source separation bins are underway.
Starbucks comes to Freudian Sip at the Sierra Center -
Beginning this fall, the Freudian Sip Sierra Center will officially become a "We Proudly Serve" partner; exclusively serving Starbucks classic beverages. That means you'll be able to get your favorite Starbucks latte, iced coffee or Frappuccino on campus! And, you'll still be able to use your MataMoney Card!
August Hours at The Marketplace
As a reminder, in order to accommodate attendees of new student orientation, the Marketplace will only be open for breakfast from 7:30 to 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 2nd and Monday through Friday, August 8th through August 25th. During this time, please enjoy lunch at another CSUN Dining location.
