John Durosinec, CSUN's pond specialist, will be discussing, among other things chinampas and the real potential they have to offer us here at school and our community in growing food, managing water resources and helping combat food insecurities both on campus and in our community. He will talk about current issues facing freshwater ecology and agriculture, such as fertilizer runoff and water diverted for the use of agriculture and share some of the current solutions and practices he is involved in. This is the first talk of a series connected to chinampas cultivation practices.
