David Boyns
My background is working in educational research and evaluation for over 25 years, quantitative and qualitative research methods in the social sciences, as well as extensive experience working with undergraduates on a variety of research projects. I am the current Director of the Bridge to the Future Scholars Program, a collaborative of campus and community members committed to enhancing the educational experiences of families, organizations and youth from Canoga Park. I have a background and expertise in evaluation research and community engaged partnerships, and have worked in this area for almost 20 years. My evaluation research and community engagement activities have been funded by the U.S. Department of Education, the National Institutes of Health, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the California State University Chancellor’s Office. I have conducted and supervised community-based research on the topics of community supported agriculture, domestic violence, lactation education, teacher professional development, and inclusive theatre experiences for youth on the autism spectrum. I have worked closely with non-profit organizations that provide education ajd services for underrepresented individuals and families. I am also the chair of the CSUN Standing Committee for the Protection Subjects, have over 20 years of experience serving on human subjects committees
