Nelida Duran (Family and Consumer Sciences) has received the 2021 Excellence in Education Award from the California Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (CAND). She is a Registered Dietitian with extensive experience in maternal and child health and HIV/AIDS care. She also researches the role of nutrition in eliminating health disparities, as well as global environmental change and its impact on food and nutrition security. The award will be announced at the CAND conference in April.
