We are pleased to announce that the CSUN Institute for Community Health and Wellbeing (HWB), established in 2009 as a campus-wide institute, is now under the auspices of the College of Health and Human Development (HHD) as of the spring 2023 semester.
The Institute, established as a campus wide institute in 2009, will continue building on its strengths as a collaborator across-campus and with community partners, and will continue laying the foundation for new partnerships. Dianne Philibosian (former Institute director and Professor Emeritus, Recreation and Tourism Management) will serve as the Institute’s Interim Director, with Elizabeth Sussman-Dabach (Family and Consumer Sciences) continuing in her role as Associate Director.
The institute promotes the mission of CSUN through enhancing the wellbeing and healthful lifestyles of our community through campus and community partnerships, and strengthens the ability of the College to enhance, enrich, and empower the human experience.
Affiliations focus on strengthening individuals and communities through creative partnerships and education. Events, lectures, workshops, and creative activities are made available through the Institute. This week, the Institute is celebrating Random Acts of Kindness week. Find out more about the Institute via the HWB website.
