CSUN's Bachelor of Sciences in Radiologic Sciences, also known as the RS program at CSUN, turned 45 years old this year. Current Program Director, Doris Abrishami, shared the following about the celebration of retiring previous Director and former Health Sciences Department Chair, Anita Slechta:
CSUN's Bachelor of Sciences in Radiologic Sciences, also known as the RS program at CSUN, turned 45 years old this year! The RS faculty and I are so grateful to be a part of a legacy that was created by our fierce leader, Anita Slechta, who will be retiring after 40 years of service and dedication to CSUN and RS program.
For the past 40 years, Anita Slechta has served as faculty, program director, as well as having served as Chair of the Department of Health Sciences. Her dedication and commitment to excellence are clearly seen in the caliber of the program and its graduates. Thanks to Anita's leadership, over 22 different hospitals and imaging centers in Southern California are affiliated with the RS program and welcome CSUN students in their Radiology departments.
On Saturday, September 17th, 2022, over 130 CSUN alumni, faculty, students and their families celebrated a program that began 45 years ago. The program flourished and became one of the best in the country because of a visionary program director who constantly kept our standards high and moved us forward. Thank you, Anita, for all your hard work and dedication!
CSUN Alumni gifted Anita with a fountain for her garden. RS faculty gave her the light up watering can and the basket of flowers as a symbol of providing constant nourishment to students and faculty.
