Amgen Team Memorializes Co-Worker Matt Winn with CSUN Environmental and Occupational Health Scholarship

Those who knew him remember Matt Winn’s big personality, punctuated by a knack for inducing laughter. They remember the CSUN alum’s impact on others, especially his passion for wanting those around him to succeed. That spirit led to the creation of a scholarship in his name by his employer, an effort driven by his co-workers and friends. The Amgen-Matt Winn Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHSS) Memorial Scholarship is an investment in the talented pool of students pursuing degrees in the EHSS in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health in HHD. Research Highlights More Ethical Approach to Surveying Minority Populations Impacted by COVID-19

A team of CSUN researchers is examining the social, ethical, and behavioral implications of COVID-19 testing, vaccination, and its long-term impacts among Cambodian, Filipino, Thai, and Vietnamese Americans in Los Angeles. Their study is titled “Southeast Asians in the US: Health Equity and Research to Understand Covid-19 Stories (SEA US, HEAR US).”  The  team is studying the impacts of COVID-19 on the four largest Southeast Asian communities in Los Angeles. CSUN 2023-24 Research Fellow for HHD: Jake Hinkel-Lipsker

We are happy to announce that Jake Hinkel-Lipsker (Kinesiology) has been named the CSUN 2023-24 Research Fellow for the College of Health and Human Development. Jake will continue his ongoing research with two studies focusing on the Feasibility of Virtual Reality for Rehabilitation Motor Skills. As Virtual Reality (VR) technology continues to progress, there is a growing interest in its use as a rehabilitative tool for those with movement disorders, where VR can provide a safe, controlled practice environment for patients.
