FitFest to Reduce Stress

As the spring 2022 semester was winding down and the intensity of finals was ramping up, CSUN students had an opportunity to learn to stay positive, active, mindful, and fit through a collaborative event called FitFest, thanks to faculty from the departments of Child and Adolescent Development and Kinesiology. The FitFest event was funded by a Campus Care Recovery Grant which is sponsored by the Office of the President and the Office of the Provost in conjunction with the Campus Care Recovery Program (CCRP) Committee, and facilitated by Child and Adolescent Development faculty Nancy Miodrag, and Kinesiology faculty Teri Todd and Jacob Jensen. 2022-23 CSUN Research Fellow for HHD: Hessam Ghamari

Hessam Ghamari, Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences/Interior Design, has been selected as the 2022-2023 Research Fellow for the College of Health and Human Development. Ghamari’s project Wandering Eyes? An Investigation of Wayfinding Behavior of Alzheimer’s Disease Patients in Care-Facilities, is underway, with the research support of student scholars. Lieutenant Vanessa Davies is an alum of Health Sciences/Public Health ('17). She keeps in touch with faculty here and reached out to let them know she was just named Assistant Health Service Officer, United states Public Health Commissioned Corps, United State Public Health Service Department of Homeland Security, Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE). As Public Health Service Commissioned Corps Officer she is in one of the seven Uniformed Services of the United States. We asked her to tell her story.  Read more about Lt. Davies
