Except in cases where the faculty member has received one or more Faculty Merit Increase (FMI) awards, an SSI award may not increase the faculty member’s salary beyond the SSI maximum rate. An employee who is otherwise eligible for SSI whose salary is below the SSI maximum rate by less than the amount of the SSI will receive an increase only up to the SSI maximum rate.
