"The National Parks: America's Best Idea" is CSUN's event to celebrate the National Park Services Centennial. This town-hall style event will feature several CSUN alumni, each of whom holds a prominent position in the National Parks system. "There is a huge need in the national parks for diversity, and CSUN is well positioned to encourage students to consider careers in the national parks," said Mechelle Best, Chair of the Department of Recreation & Tourism Management. The Department of Health Sciences, in collaboration with CAMINO, Master of Public Health Student Association, the Health Administration Student Association, and the College of Health and Human Development presents: The Contribution of the Health Care System to Racial/Ethnic Disparities in Access to Care" presented by Nadereh Pourat, PhD, CSUN Alumna and Director of Research, UCLA Center for Health Policy Research. Her research focuses on assessing racial/ethnic and other disparities in access to care of under-served populations. She is also a member of the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, Division of Cancer Prevention and Control Research. Read more
