Join San Fernando Valley-based activist mamas for a discussion on Chicana M(other)work and community mothering as critical pedagogy. Chicana M(other)work offers a new interpretation of motherwork that looks at the layers of care work we do in our communities through activism, self-care, teaching, and mothering.

Learn from Yesenia Campos-Valentin, Chef Wendy at Guayaba kitchen, Merlen Tavira Garcia, Margarita Lopez-Pelayo, and Rosalilia Mendoza. The panel will be moderated by Dr. Christine Vega, Assistant Professor of Chicana/o Studies at San Jose State University and Co-Editor of the Chicana M(other)work Anthology.

This panel is part of Tia Chucha's Centro Cultural and Bookstore's 17th annual Celebrating Words Festival, and is co-sponsored by the CSUN Ethnic Studies Education Pathways Project, Asian American Studies Pathways Project, DREAM Center, and Project Rebound.
